OmniCloneŽ 10Xi

Are Logicube duplicators compatible with Windows 7 operating system?
Can I clone to/from drives larger than 80 Gigabytes?
Are Logicube duplicators compatible with Windows 7 operating system?

The Echo Plus, Sonix, SuperSonix, OmniClone Xi and OmniSAS products are compatible with Windows 7 operating system.  Special instructions must be followed to clone Windows 7 drives using CleverCopy mode if the destination drive is larger than the source drive or if the source drives contains a "recovery" partion.  Please see information below or contact our Technical Support department for assistance.

Mirror Copy Mode

All of the Logicube prodcuts listed above will support cloning of Windows 7 drives in the standard Mirror Copy Mode. No special instructions are requred.

CleverCopy Mode

In certain scenarios special instructions must be follwed in order to successfully clone Windows 7 drives using CleverCopy Mode with the Echo Plus, Sonix, SuperSonix, OmniClone or OmniSAS solutions.

Scenario 1

When Source and Destination drives are the same size

CleverCopy the entire source drive to each of the destination drives. Please refer to the Cloning Modes section of your users guide on using CleverCopy in this scenario.

Scenario 2

When Source and Destination drives are larger than the Source drive

Please note that you will need to have purchased and enabled the Selection Partitions option on the OmniClone Xi duplicator. Contact our sales department if you do not have this option. Selective Partitions is already enabled on Sonix, SuperSonix and OmniSAS. The Echo Plus is unable to CleverCopy Windows 7 drives if the Source and Destination drives are different sizes.

The following steps are necessary for creating correct and bootable clones

1. Enter "Selective" mode

2. For a normal Win7 DVD installed source drive the duplicator will report two partitions. They should be cloned as follows:

a. 100 MB NTFS:    Mirror or Keep Size (same -size) CleverCopy

b. "N" GB NTFS:    CleverCopy

Scenario 3

When Source drive contains a "recovery" partition ahead of OS partition

1. Enter "selective" mode

2. The Logicube Duplicator will report 3 partitions. The partitions should be cloned as follows:

a. Recovery Partition:  Mirror or "Keep Size" CleverCopy

b. 100MB NTFS:   Mirror or "Keep Size" CleverCopy

c. "N" GB NTFS:   CleverCopy

Scenario 4

When Source drive contains a "recovery" partition as last partition

1. Enter  "Selective" mode

2. The Logicube Duplicator will report 3 partitions. The partitions should be cloned as follows:

a. 100 MB NTFS:   Mirror or "Keep Size" CleverCopy

b. "N" GB NTFS:    CleverCopy

c. Recover Partiition: CleverCopy

 

Can I clone to/from drives larger than 80 Gigabytes?
Yes. The firmware was designed to support drives up to at least 1TB, in some cases larger than 1TB drives are supported. Check with Logicube Technical Support department for specific information on your model.
