Logicube Announces Solitaire Turbo with Integrated KeypadChatsworth, CA - Friday, June 27, 2003
Logicube Inc., announces the release of a new Solitaire Turbo™ with an optional Integrated Keypad. This specially designed keypad greatly expands the unit's capabilities allowing users to:
- Edit Volume labels
- Enter supervisor passwords
- Customize unit behavior
- Store pre-defined settings
The new USB enabled, super-fast Solitaire-Turbo™ hard-drive duplication system weighs only 16 oz. (without drives), and offers a variety of connectivity options; USB port (with the optional USB Adapter), parallel port, PCMCIA slot (with the optional new CloneCard Pro™), or directly through the UDMA cable interface (at cloning speeds exceeding 1.8 GB/min!).
The new Solitaire Turbo connects via the USB port (through the optional USB Adapter) to create and manage a master drive, and to clone to and from a PC. Cloning occurs at speeds varying from 50-100 MB/min. with USB 1.1, to 400 to 700 MB/min. with USB 2.0.
By combining the latest technologies with a lightweight, ergonomic design, the Solitaire Turbo duplication and diagnostic system clones any hard-drive running any operating system. With the new USB Cloning Adapter, the Solitaire Turbo can be quickly and easily connected to any PC and the network. Once connected, the Turbo's internal master hard drive appears under Windows Explorer as an additional drive, or several drives depending on the number of partitions (Windows 98 and 98 SE require special, included drivers to initiate the "Client Software"). Users can then utilize their PC to create and manage the new drive inside the Turbo. Using the "Client Software" users can:
- Reformat the master drive using one of Windows standard tools (e.g. Disk Administrator, Format Utility, Defragmentation Utility, etc.).
- Add or remove files to the master drive using Windows Explorer
- Back up the contents of any master drive partition into a single file on a network server using Microsoft Backup and Restore
- Back up files or directories to the master drive using Windows Explorer or other tools
- Use Partition Magic to re-size, re-order, delete, and add partitions to the master drive
The Solitaire-Turbo™ boasts three powerful new features:
- CRC-16 Engine
- Ultra-DMA Support
- USB Capability
- PCMCIA Capability
The new multi-standard, software-based, CRC engine allows for the computation of full CRC-16 and other codes, on-the-fly at full speed. With easy access via the USB1.1/2.0 port, the Solitaire-Turbo™ quickly copies 2.5" and 3.5" IDE, EIDE and Ultra-DMA drives regardless of the size, brand or model of the master and target drives. The Solitare Turbo's internal master drive can hold up to 24 partitions. Users can select one, some, or all partitions to create virtually any system or application combination, at the push of a button.
The Solitaire Turbo™ features a user-friendly, backlit graphic display, and comes with powerful embedded software. This and other, optional diagnostic software provide a wide variety of "intelligent" cloning options. From comprehensive diagnostics such as "data recovery", "drive wipe", and "scanning", to "scalable cloning", "mirroring", and "large cylinder-head translation", the Solitaire Turbo™ is the industry's most powerful and intuitive hard drive cloning tool.
Each Solitaire Turbo™ System includes a versatile, ballistic nylon carrying case, a parallel cable, UDMA/power supply, flashlight, and screwdriver. The Solitaire Turbo™ package is a complete one-to-one solution. Simply plug it in and clone.

Optional Accessories:
- The CloneCard Pro™ - Allows data transfer directly through the PCMCIA slot - laptop or desktop system data transfer speeds exceed 175 MB/min using this device. Greatly improves transfer times over parallel port method
- Optional OmniDiagnose® Software includes:
- Wipeclean Target - The Wipeclean Target function is specifically designed for erasing all existing data from a Target Drive. The user can control the functionality through the selection of the number of erase passes, and the data value used to fill the sectors. The selection of the number of passes will cause the software to perform a standard data wiping algorithm which can be set to comply with government (DOD) standards.
- Scan Target (Fast/Thorough) - The scan target operation performs a surface scan of the drive media using the drive controller to verify the media. This is done without transferring any data from the drive. The Fast mode performs one pass of the drive and will report the results to the display and to the printer (if desired). The Thorough mode will perform three passes and collect and sort the resulting error information. All results for the Scan operation are saved and available for a printed hardcopy whether the operation terminates normally, is aborted by the User, or terminates with an error. An error count of 200 will abort scanning as the drive is probably damaged beyond acceptable standards.
- Repair Target - The Repair Target operation runs directly on Target drive without using a Master drive. The Scan Fast operation as described previously, is used to qualify the drive. Where the scan operation classifies a sector as either WEAK or BAD, the Repair Target operation will attempt to recover each sector. All results for the Repair operation are saved and available for a printed hardcopy whether the operation terminates normally, is aborted by the User, or terminates with an error.
- Error Recovery for Cloning operations - The Error Recovery for Cloning feature is activated from the Set Menu choice & Mac179; On Error & Mac178; the choices are Abort, Skip, Retry, and Recover. Abort will terminate any Cloning operation immediately upon detecting an error. Skip will not copy the offending sector but will proceed with the following sectors. Retry will attempt to automatically recover the sector with a good read. Recover will attempt to reconstruct the data sector automatically with a proprietary algorithm.
- Drive Health Information - The Drive Health function will display information about the drive such as Average RPM, Seek Time, Read Latency, and a report of S.M.A.R.T. data if available.
