The hand-held, Logicube forensic Talon® is specifically designed for the requirements of law enforcement, military, MIS/IT, corporate security, investigators, and auditors. At 4GB/min., the Talon simultaneously captures and verifies data on IDE/UDMA/SCSI/SATA, 1.8", 2.5" and compact flash drives.
With "DD" imaging, and SHA-256 or MD5 authentication, the new Talon is the industry's most powerful and versatile data capturing system. DD Image files allow the user to select varying file sizes, such as 650MB, 2GB and 4GB. These segments of captured data may be placed on otehr media such as CD or DVDs for further analysis, or they may be analyzed on the drive by segments.
With the Talon's 256 bit authentication, the unit ensures the highest level of accuraacy and verification. The Talon computes a hash signature match on both suspect and evidence drive ensuring:- The source and destination do no match prior to capture
- The source drive has not been changed
- The source and desitnation drive match after capture
- The data image is 100% legally sound

The forensic Talon is compaticlbe with all standard and prorietary operating systems, providing assurance of an exact bit-for-bit copy of all data stored on a suspect (source) drive, including deleted files, free space and file stack.
The unit's advanced Keyword Search utility searches for hundreds of words while capturing at full speed. Users may store multiiple groups of pre-defined keyword lists on the compact flash, and retrieve search results from the CF directly to Windows. The search words can be unicode, case sensitve or insensitive. In addition the QWERTY keypad allows for easy entry of keywords in the field.
The Talon's powerful embedded software (firmware) includes:- Complete SHA-256 Data Seizure - The unit verifies "DD" images and provides SHA-256 authentication on-the-fly
- Unit Integrity Check - Checks the data cables or data integrity between source and desitnation drives before capture
- Wipe Out- Unit provides a means to erase the desitnation drive prior to capturing a suspect drive, or erase the reaminder of the destination drive after Capture
- On Error Prompt - Abort, Skip, Retry and Recover
The forensic Talon also featues a system to write audit trail reports to the compact flash (CF). This report can be printed on scene as well as at a later time. In addition it will be authenticating the contents of the file by running a Logicube checksum and appending it to the bottom of the file in plain ASCII format.
